Overview

This document contains instructions on how to use the lecture podium in the Alumni Hall at the VEC.

Basic Desktop PC Presentation

  1. In the upper, right-hand corner of the AMX touch panel press System On.
  2. Please wait 45 seconds while the system powers on and projectors warm up.
  3. If the desktop computer is not showing on the left monitor, move the mouse or press a key. If it is off, you should turn the computer on. It is in the cabinet at the bottom right.
  4. At the top of the AMX touch panel you will see 4 output tabs. Press the tab labelled Dual Projectors, located on the leftmost tab.
  5. On the left side of the AMX touch panel you will see 5 input tabs. Select Desktop Computer to use the built-in PC workstation.
  6. Press the Primary Screen button under Desktop Source and Press Send to Left and/or Right Projector button to project the computer's primary screen on one or both of the two projector screens.
  7. If using the secondary screen, press the Secondary Screen button under Desktop Source and Press the Send to Right Projector button to project the computer's secondary screen on the right projector screen.
  8. Volume controls for computer audio as well as microphone volume are located in the lower right-hand portion of the AMX touch panel.
  9. When you are done with your presentation please press System Off in the top right corner, then press Turn Off when the prompt comes on the screen.
  10. Log off the Desktop Computer before leaving the room.

Basic Laptop VGA, Laptop HDMI, and Document Camera Presentation

  1. In the upper, right-hand corner of the AMX touch panel press System On.
  2. Please wait 45 seconds while the system powers on and projectors warm up.
  3. If you have a laptop connect it at this time, either via the provided VGA or HDMI cables. 
  4. At the top of the AMX touch panel you will see 4 output tabs. Press the tab labelled Dual Projectors, located on the leftmost tab.
  5. On the left side of the AMX touch panel you will see 5 input tabs. Select from the following input options: Laptop VGA, Laptop HDMI, or Document Camera.
  6. Press the Send to Left Projector and Send to Right Projector buttons to project the input device onto the two projector screens.
  7. Volume controls for computer audio as well as microphone volume are located in the lower right-hand portion of the AMX touch panel.
  8. When you are done with your presentation please press System Off in the top right corner, then press Turn Off when the prompt comes on the screen.

Using The Interactive Whiteboard

      1. Using the desktop, run the Easy Interactive Software via the icon on the desktop.

      2. Use the whiteboard.
